Captain Chan here, I've got my ship here if anyone needs a boat. Got a arsenal aswell in my closet. Not the most effective weapons. A shotgun, two pistols, a flare gun, three machete and one hatchet. Choose your weapons guys, because this journey is gonna be a rough one from my instinct. You got to be careful of those damn Reapers.
Oh and that shotgun is mine, I call dibs on it...

Hello guys, glad I could be part of this club! Fellow gamedev with a love for horror here!
Horror releated self promotion, after a year of coding, I've finally released the complete version for my slasher horror game Pocket Killers. This game features three killers you can play as. Each character have their own levels/chapters/stories.
If you guys enjoy horror games where you are the monster, check it out.
MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENTS!!!
Pocket Killers is still alive! After a year the game is now in Alpha version. The old beta version is archived.
All stories/levels for killers are complete.
The Alpha version is uploaded here
Hey guys, thoughts on the “SAW” franchise?
I personally find it interesting and terrifying since those saw traps can be made IRL in theory

No its not part of the Madness franchise, but the art-style is inspired by Madness. The killers are all original.
I've been working on a horror game where you play as the killers and hunt down other survivors for months. It's a hack & slash action game with a heavy theme of horror, and I'm looking for YouTubers who are interested in doing playthroughs of my game. (Also would be cool if I could get advice on how to get more people to play my game and build a playerbase).

UPDATE 5/17/2022:
Thanks for sticking around, if not welcome!
Updates:
Added a new store-bought ability called "Chop and Stab."
Re-adjusted the Menu UI.
Added more consumable items for the killer's inventory.
Fixed bugs involving Butcher's boss fight, also added a cutscene for Butcher losing the fight. (For the next update, I will add a cutscene for Butcher's good ending after defeating the boss)
Fixed a bug where survivors cannot attack after being hit by the Dragon Pillar.
Added "Beating Stick" and its bloody counterpart in the "Weapon Selection" section.
Other bug fixes included.

Whatcha think about these? I can find you guys some other videos and marketing stuff for any one of them if you're interested in learning more!
I've been on this ride before around 2013-2014, when I was a kid and we went to Disneyland in Florida.
I find the horror aspects at first intriguing, but the elevator drop caught me off-guard. It was quite a rush for me back then.

Also sounds like there's a lot of cool stuff happening out there that I didn't know about! I gotta go do research on some of these things.
So, I see a lot of horror enjoyers here - are any of you also horror creators? If so, what's your favorite type of horror content to make? I saw one slasher game developer, and that's really cool. For me, I think eldritch abominations are great fun to design. You just kinda throw logic out the window, but artfully. I also was an active participant in the thread for the NG Creepypasta collab, and made a couple entries as well. I loved the double-tributes people made to Newgrounds and to icons of Internet horror (from the stupid to the stupendous) and the general style of the stories/characters.
@anothergamedev, I think the minimalist color scheme is great for your game! Have you heard of Dead by Daylight, by any chance? I've looked into it and think it's pretty cool, maybe you could take some inspiration for your own horror game with playable antagonists - see what you think works and doesn't work!
Thank you!
Yes I have heard of Dead By Daylight. In-fact, Dead by Daylight was one of the main inspirations for this game, Pocket Killers. I wanted to make my own inspiration from DbD, but focusing on the elements I like about the game itself, which is playing as the killers.
If you check out the store for special abilities, you would notice a good amount of DbD killer ability inspired attacks. Stabbing Spree is inspired by Feral Frenzy for an example, and Grapple Gun is inspired by The Deathslinger.
I plan that after I finish all the individual stories/levels for the 3 main playable killers, more killers would be added. If you are intrested, DM me and I can send you my Discord server for Pocket Killers.
Hey guys, got some good news so far!
Completed Butcher's chapters, with the final chapter containing a boss fight.
Added "Dragon Pillars" and "incendiary shotgun." As buyable items in-store.
Edited aspect ratio to 922x487, adjusted Menu UI and In-game HUD.
Increased enemy difficulty slightly, including new "Medic enemy"

Those are just some of the many pickup-able items I got planned. Might or might not be themed around individual killers.
Speaking of which, just updated the horror game.
Hello everyone, got good news regarding my horror game Pocket Killers! Some new updates for now.
These updates include:
New Inventory system and Item Pickup. Each Item can grant a certain buff and certain debuff in killer stats, up to 4 slots.
More levels and melee weapons,
Improved Menu & In-game UI.
Added a new storebought ability in-game named "Stabbing Spree."
Adjusted various bugs and patches, etc.
Re-designed sounds.
...And more!
I'm gonna cut off my fingers, have my hand and feet amputated. I'll get someone to take a picture of each of my fingers and limbs. Then I'll sell the photos as NFTs

The full release on Steam will be on March 24 2022 (3 days away from my post)
Congratulations! Happy for you
Just wanted to say, that players are welcome to try the Playtest Version of Pocket Killers. This version features more content, lore, weapons, and a Inventory system where the player can pick up various consumable items in-game. In the menu, the player is then able to equip those items. The items would buff certain player stats but debuff other certain player stats..
Credit to the help of Fusion_Game_Studio on setting up the item scripts.
I'm down, Can't wait for my game to be part of it

I've been working on an inventory system themed around the slashers in my horror game.

Sounds awesome, as a fan of horror stuff I'm in
https://freesound.org/ is where I get sounds.
Don't know if this is posted before, but who else here plays DBD?
I've gotten into the game during the summer of 2021, looking for people to play the game with and those who have my common interest of slasher horror.
