Well i also think Big is infamous sadly, but i think he would be a good character if well explored, i can agree for tails too, he was my fav sonic character since my childhood
Well as of i know, since i'm kind of a newbie into programming you could watch some tutorials related to flash game developing
But you'll have to get started into actionscript to code something in flash.
There are some guides you can search for such as tutorials on youtube or buy the famous " for dummies " book series, but there are more books related to actionscript programming too, that can also teach you about essencial information
There's also a developer's guide from Adobe itself, check if you want, there are codes for basic system managing such as working with dates and times and managing calendars to more advanced stuff
Being honest i think it's rhythm heaven, i'm so bad at this game but i think it's very fun, another game i'm very bad at but i also like it is radiant silvergun, same for kizuna jigoku tachi (ketsui death label), i think i also like SHMUPS alot despite being very bad at them, i remember beating super space invaders for master system after some days playing.

I start with Toriel from undertale, her design appeals to something that is very friendly and pure by nature! It just transmits happiness and the vibes of someone trustworthy to the player at this point.
Then, there's also Squirtle from pokémon series
He's my favorite kanto initial and he's so cute! Squirtles are so cute and funny too (until they become enormous Blastoises though)
