Tried sketching with a homemade broad dip nib made from a bamboo chopstick.
Pen pusher, brush dragger, wood butcher & usual suspect.

I'm currently fresh brand new with doing shading/texturing via hatching or cross-hatching in pen. I did a few tests in just regular blue pen and wanted to know feedback on how I'm doing and if I'm getting the gist of this. Any tips to improve would be very helpful. Thank you. Note that my skills in perspective is a bit weak, so the cube is not correct as it should have been. Sorry about that.

I dont have the photos in my gallery but I've been working on a short comic, Mortal recently (12 pages posted here so far, and the next post will be this sunday)
It's a "prequel" to a longer comic im going to be publishing called Ladyphilia, and also just to get me into the vibe of posting a comic and whatnot.
In my oc universe there's siren society and its split into different kingdoms (jellyfish, squid, common siren (comsi), etcetc)
The comsi kingdom was the most oppresive as the king was a paranoid dictator, which led to him killing his twin sons (a whole other story). Which led to revolutions and anarchy in the kingdom.
From the anarchy arose The Magna Diva, who vowed to kill the remaining noble class and bring the Goddess back to the people, for the King banned religion. Her right hand, the Magna Serta, carried out the will of the Magna Diva, and bloodshed spread across the kingdom.
The comic follows the Magna Diva's execution (wont spoil too much incase anyone wants to read it 😋)
