'' a Slice of Anxiety: Raining Late. '' is a mixed media animated short created by me (Quinndox); intended as my Final Major Project for College.
The story follows Lemon Drizzle Cake, a little lady happily making her way to school.
Unfortunately for her: she forgot to pack an umbrella.
I hope my cartoon can make you S M i L E !
Fight On! 💪

OMG. I love it.
I love the unique presentation style for your film! It reminds me of OMORI
Love the art and the somewhat funny content.. Love your character and the design you used.. and look.. some road.. :3
This is truly amazing! Such glorious artwork! and the animation with a drawn figure is just perfect. This took time and very awesome. You should make this a series with this character
I loved this! And I can't really express why, but it's great: creative, charming, soothing, entertaining. The hosing part was unexpected and I loved that you didn't even pretend to make it seem as if the water actually came from the cloud, it was just the idea of that.
The only bit that didn't make much sense to me and felt like it didn't have much of a point was the ending with her catching fire. Was she flustered thinking about the humiliation of arriving late? In the end she only ended up soaking wet on the road, neither going home to change nor going to school?
Anyways, fantastic job!
Howdy-dee, 👋
I'm glad you like my video~
In regards to your confusion:
Her setting ablaze is intended to represent the frustration she feels whilst thinking about the possibility of unfairly getting a detention -- should she have chosen to go home and change.
You were fairly close in your thinking to what I had personally intended, though I'd say your own interpretation, about her possibly feeling flustered/humiliated, is equally valid.
I very much like it when people interpret my work in different ways; viewing things from a perspective I likely never would've seen. 👍
Furthermore, right at the very end, there's a brief scene meant to imply that Cake makes the decision to walk to school in her drenched demeanour -- though I understand this may not have communicated the clearest.
Hope that makes more sense of things.
Thank you for the comment. 🏄
