Before I forget to do this a second time, here are a few questions to get y'all started:

1. Who are you in general?

2. What inspired you to start drawing hentai?

3. What kinks/fetishes/styles do you specialise in?

4. Do you plan on making a career out of your hentai or is it just something to do on the side?

  1. I’m just a guy who likes to draw and wants to tell stories for a living.
  2. Honestly, while I can’t say I’m a “hentai” artist, I do certainly love drawing half-naked women. It honestly stems from feeling constantly teased by characters like Jill Valentine, Mai Shiranui, and even Chun-Li. I always wanted to see more than what I did, and it eventually turned into a love for drawing.
  3. Relating to my last answer, I specialize in character design, and I love to create characters who are half-naked, or have an outfit that takes on a sort of “exhibitionistic” appeal. Short skirts, no panties, etc. I find teasing nudity to be more interesting than full on nudity, or even explicit sex, and I have fun depicting that when story allows. However, I am also interested in doing some things that are more explicit, like public masturbation and orgasms.
  4. YES. I do in fact want my art and my writing to one day be my full time career. Like I said before, I don't necessarily identify as a “hentai” artist, but I certainly do like telling scary, action-filled stories with an erotic edge.

Here is some of my art. If you like what I do, lets connect!

1. I go by IDoDoodlesToo. Most people end up just calling me Doodles. I am pretty prolific with my drawing, and post very frequently over on a few other social media platforms. I’m entirely new to this community, and I’m very much taking the format.

2. You know, I have been drawing for most of my life. Are used to be an art contributor on the website called GayYaoiAndMore, then on y!gallery. I honestly can’t say why I enjoy drawing the things I enjoy drawing, I just do. I find beauty in bodies, especially men’s bodies, and I enjoy capturing that wherever I can find it. I like showing people what they look like to someone from the outside, and I found it generally speaking? When they see the way they are captured in art, it sometimes changes the way they can see themselves. All that, and well, dicks are fun to draw. LOL

3. I say that most of my stuff is pretty vanilla. I draw a lot of pinups, as well as straight up gay sex. I like drawing close-ups of oral sex, and I generally like to capture people very much enjoying the act. I sometimes get a little bit too carried away with musculature, especially when it comes to abs, but I’m working on trying to be more and more realistic with that.

4. I actually have a doctorate in a field that is not related to art, but I make some money on the side drawing portraits for people. I generally use that money to fund any new cosplay that I’m working on.

Honestly, the best advice is to just do it. I see a lot of people get caught up on perfectionism to the detriment of actually finishing pieces. I know I can still get caught up in this mindset sometimes and I've been drawing for years. So, I think it's important to also develop the skill to recognize when you should put something down and come back to it, and when you should stick it through to make something "good enough."

If you feel yourself getting stuck in a bad mind loop and need an artistic break, I highly recommend doing timed gesture practice. It loosens you up and there's no need to make something "perfect" when you only have 2 minutes to capture the essence of the pose. It's also a good way to practice fundamental art skills like anatomy, which brings me to my answer on what I wish I'd started doing earlier. Practice your fundamentals! Still lifes, portraits, etc. drawing from real life will help you improve your stylized cartoon artwork.

Drawing is as much about your knowledge of how to draw as it is about your muscle memory for translating what you see to the page. It's an exercise, too. Keep creating and I wish you the best on your artistic journey!

This is great, thanks. I had been practicing anatomy with no particular goals, and perhaps I should do some of these timed exercises. Do you think it would be valuable to try to emulate the styles of other artists? I was thinking of drawing the same character over and over in different styles to try to learn a bunch of different techniques, and sort of reverse engineer other artists' processes as additional practice.

You're welcome, and Yeah! Lots of artists do a thing called a "master study" where you take some masterwork (Like Michealangelo's Sistine chapel ceiling) and do your best to recreate it. There's also plenty of artist's challenges that are like "Draw your OC in "this" style~" and I think they can help you to define your own style by looking at other styles to see what you like about them. I've learned a lot by watching artists when they stream, too.

That's something I'll keep an eye out for, then, and maybe just practice on my own. Thanks again for all the advice :)

I've done up some quick sketches to practice some anatomy. I'm still not quick enough to even get a basic shape in 2 minutes, so these were probably 15-20 minute sketches.

Perhaps I'll start my own thread for this kind of stuff, but maybe some people here could take a look at these. I'm liking the process of creating these, but I also have no idea how to start inking my sketches. If anyone has some tutorials they could share, I'd be very appreciative.

Great start my dude. Look in to Ethan Becker on youtube if you haven’t already. He approaches illustration from an animation standpoint, and he talks about drafting out the forms with simple shapes, and how that helps you draw the fine details later on. Trying to go straight to the fine details can be very overwhelming, even for the most experienced of artists.

1. My art name is Crisahitna Hyscirs since I had it as a long time username online for about a decade, so I'm like, why not make it an art name. Anyway, I'm a mixed bag of SFW and NSFW content since I tend to draw a lot of body horror and dark surrealistic scifi. In other words, artists like HR Giger and Beksinski are up my alley.

2. My main inspiration is purely out of impulse. If something turns me on, you bet your ass I'm gonna draw it out.

3. I'm going through more of a experimentation phase at the moment, but I prefer Male pinup and solo pieces since they're much fun to draw.

4. I'm doing this as a casual hobby on the side until I can gather enough resources to make a little extra cash.

Definitely not on my schedule! I work an Amazon warehouse at 10hrs a night. The fact it's four days a week is the only thing that allows me the time to recoup and still attempt this. I started this in mid-Feb, which makes this a months worth of progress for a one second loop. So yeah, a short is not really a feasible option.

1. 'Im just a random female who loves to draw nsfw and sfw art~ I'm mostly drawing furry related shite but I'll get to draw more humanoids! Once i learn how to beat the shyness..
2. I think it was the artistic side of it, I started drawing it back in 2012..
3. I'm honestly not sure yet xD, I've never stopped on just one topic, I like to try new things :3
4. I'm actually planning to do so, but it's a bit hard when you're barely noticed, I've recently earned a few followers on my nsfw Twitter account but they only interacted with some fanart of Kamex and Retrospecter, if I upload something else without them, they're suddenly dead :') </3

Hey there!

I'm Xelli, I kinda started this account with making Warcraft Rule34 and ended up not really liking that I was kinda limited to just editing models other people made, so I recently remade one of my characters and have some plans for a bunch more down the line!

Here's one of the ones with edited WoW models:

And here's the new model of my OC Mio who will get some NSFW work soon! (I'm so damn happy with how she turned out!):

Nice to see new ppl, I've recently been busy setting up commission info on my sfw main but damn has it been slightly stressful. On one hand, I had to get caught up/learn with/about self-employment taxes and will have to figure out a "strat" to promote and get clients. On top of it all, I've been given more responsibility to get a stable income, in a good supportive push kinda way from my parents at least.

I was thinking of also doing it for nsfw but until I can commit to a platform and 3rd party transaction app that's kinda cool with it I'd rather not risk a freeze of the apps I do have ya know. Anywho I've got a hill in front, just a little update on what I've been up to.

How did some of you that do commissions start out, was it a long time before you got clients or is it still a struggle to get consistent work? I may just have to get into a company job and do commissions on the side or something.

Stick with a regular job and do commission on the side. You will not make any money but few bucks per month if not per year...

Also I woundl't mention anything to any authority. The money you earn belongs to you and YOU ALONE!

I started getting commission on Fiverr, It went smoothly until I got shadow banned, then completely banned.

May everyone who works at Fiverr or supports it, Rot in Hell for all Philosophical and Physical Eternety.

Still managed to cash around 500$!

Also, stay the fuck away from that place! It's not worth it!

But guess what, it wasn't on a Freelancing site where I got my biggest cut!

Client contacted me privately for an NSFW 2D fantasy game.

3 - 4 months of work and a total of 3000$!

Apart from very small commissions, my income has stopped for now, despite having set up everything decently...

The last 2, I don't even count as they were for free, so...

Apart from that, yeah this place is growing nicely. We should set up few couches, mybe a minibar fridge :D !
