i think it's in reference to preventing fetishizing of any sort during the registration process. you can obviously have a furry oc, but just dont be excessively weird with it i suppose.
if ya got a freak flag, it's not allowed to fly in this case; i think that's all we're getting at.

I know, and I'm not actually mad, I was just poking fun. Though ya didn't really have to single out furries, when you could have just said "no overly sexualized or fetishistic characters" in general

The easiest way to tell is just go to the secret santa page. If you see the register button, you are scouted.

I migrated here earlier this year and have 600+ pieces on DA so I only uploaded about 100 of my best ones on here, and I only one piece here with that character is in it. I can prove it's mine if necessary but the post said only NG will be checked.

As per your character profile when you're registering for the Secret Santa, you're allowed to use only a single drawing of your character, but are encouraged to add any and all additional information you find relevant for whomever ends up being the one to draw for you. This includes additional drawings, but isn't required.

What's different this year ?
We're not even sure... JUST KIDDING !!! THE RULES !!! THE RULES ARE DIFFERENT THIS YEAR !!!!!
You can read all the rules for the Secret Santa via the registration page, but I'd like to share a few cliff notes of what we changed for this year.
BIG CHANGES:
Other than these minor changes (and the whole automated system implemented by @PsychoGoldfish last year) we are on a fast track to having this as optimized as possible.
Note: If you aren't scouted, but have a bunch of art on the art portal, throw up some links and maybe you'll catch someone's attention! (If you are already scouted, please make sure anything you scout adheres to NG guidelines!)

What is expected of me and how can I help ?
If you would like to participate:
- Be patient after signing up
- Be respectful to whomever you're drawing for by not ruining the surprise or letting them know you're drawing for them
- Relay all questions to event helpers, NOT the person you are assigned to
- Read the rules over twice if you have any questions
- End of day, Nov. 26th (11:59pm EST) is when everyone must have their registration/profile completed
- If all goes according to plan, Secret Santas will be assigned on Dec. 1st
- You have until the end of Christmas Eve, Dec. 24th (11:59pm EST) to submit your completed drawing

you gotta be scouted now? mannnnn that sucks for me. I've been coming back to this event since 2020 and onward and even though i haven't been as active like last year i still want to get in here to finish the year off.
Worst part is i was scouted at one point but got unscounted in less than a week without a warning, not even a DM. i understand the intentions when viewed in an organizer standpoint but this still sucks man.

I gotta be honest, the scout rule for this is a little rough. Currently I see this thread has already derailed the organic intention behind scouting, and also promoted scout requests, even if the language was indirect. Plus scouting comes with a quality threshold, which kind of breaks the spirit of Secret Santa. I was there for the last fully manual Secret Santa, I understand the shitstorm you're trying to avoid, just feel like this rule is a net negative.
