Reviews for "MODE GAL"

2:31.09 baby

At first I was a bit put off by the character's movement being so sudden and jumpy but my god it put me into overdrive or something, the controls are so natural and responsive

Love the music, the art style, the mechanics.. This is giving ena vibes, I love it! :]

I am definitely gonna speedrun this
I got 3:28 and I think a sub-3 minutes run is posible
1st Edit: Got 3:21

This game is deeper than I know which keeps me coming back, but too deep for me to naturally find out it would seem which pushes me away a bit. Maybe I'm just a little stoopid though?
I love the geometric character design and general aesthetic - ENA comparisons will inevitably drawn but hey, I like ENA too. The music is an earworm that keeps me in the exploring mood, although after my first run it never came back.

WHAT I'VE FOUND [SPOILERS FOLLOW]
- Invisible platforms and walls occasionally exist. I have found two instances, neither of which seem to have any utility... yet.
- Mode switches, if SOMEHOW taken to the next level, are retained until you die, which will be useful for the next bullet point
- Upside Down can flip even while midair. You only get it once, but it seems absolutely necessary for one of the gems a few levels from where you get it; dying once means it becomes completely unobtainable for the rest of the run.

I like it! Hopefully it joins the ranks of other game jam titles that have gone on to be something bigger - or if nothing else, I hope we see more of Mode Gal!

The amount of black rectangles that inhibit your vision make this game 'virtually uplayable'.
