Just unearthed this WIP from June.
The idea was to have several of him wearing different Hawaiian prints.
The South Park Collab
Back In September and October, I hosted this collab in honour of Ray's 20th anniversary. I debated with myself many times about what I would do with all of the characters sent in.
Then I remembered that a few months back, I was talking about Wimmelbilder art in a forum thread, and thought that it would be fun to use the characters to create some bustling landscapes within South Park.
I thought about what kind of settings I could use, and settled on four:
I tried to pick recognisable locations that would also allow for some interesting interactions amongst the characters. I drew these using references from the show, and tried to add extra little bits of detail, mainly by way of shading.
Overall I really like how these came out, and so far their reception has been overwhelmingly positive.
I may have to host a second South Park Collab in the future.
Have some key lime pie!
The software cracker's delight!
Really happy with how this has come out.
The wedges of lime in the cross section are a separate symbol that I added inner glows to.
I used a minute stippling technique on the crust to capture the detail of all those crumbs.
The top of the slice and the cream used radial gradients for shading.
Bon appetit.
me trying to hand.
On today's episode of "I can't decide how I want to render stuff"...
But it looks hella nice imo.
It's now on the Portal.
Working on my entry for the Snowman Collab that @fe3l1ngsk1lledd is hosting.
Props to @dreggsu for inspiring me with his snow B because I had no idea what to do before then.
A snowman I drew about a week prior.
Back when I had no idea wtf I was doing for this collab.

Some background work.
Drawing scraggy dead trees can be fun but I might redo them.
The "snow" is just gradient bevel filters.
As far as I've seen, your art is good, and either reminds me of Happy Wheels art style or South Park art style (which are quite similar however). I also see occasional creativity in your work, as with the penis palmtree. Maybe my only nitpick would be that some of the art seems quite simple, and lacks some background or originality.

Thanks for providing feedback.
The SP style is important to me, especially when drawing Ray. I guess I'm still on a quest to find originality. I know I'm definitely on a quest to make my art pop more.
But what do you mean by "background"? Do you mean that my pieces lack a sense of environment, or something else?

You could say so. Even on pics where a character or similar is the only thing you want to show, having a totally blank BG is boring, unless you can demonstrate is necessary for your art to have a blank BG. Even a simple gradient helps to make it more cool.

For a while now I've been working on adding backgrounds to my subjects. The concern is whether the background is too detailed and if it takes away from the focus.
This piece has not been submitted to the Art Portal.
Merry Pissmas
My entry for the Snowman Collab being hosted by @fe3l1ngsk1lledd.
Here's the final piece. Quite a lot of overlays being used here:
Other elements, namely the carrot nose, just use gradients to achieve shading.
Since I felt like doing something a bit crude, I turned the snowman into Ray's urinal. I just tweaked his character parts to make him stand at a slight angle.
In particular I'm proud of the texture on the ground. It's hard to see because of how white everything is but I think there's some nice subtlety in there.
Now that I think about it this would make a lovely greeting card. Season's Relievings!
Working on my castle game for a 2000s themed piece I'm doing for an art collab.
Think I'm gonna go for the latter.

In all seriousness, I really like your artwork and sketches :)

Started construction. Is it obvious that I don't know perspective?
The castle is starting to take shape.
Really going for that 2000s Flash game look with the outlines and gradients.
The dormers on that frontmost curtain wall were a PITA but I like them.
Now for the windows...
Oh yeah I was gonna put flags on top of the towers.
Oh well, think they'd look a bit awkward with them now that I've decided on the composition.
