Frieren kinda came out of nowhere for me, and it's such a breath of fresh air to have an actual fantasy series with some genuine heart after a decade or more of all the sword and sorcery fare being low effort, ironic Isekai slop.
Not to say I didn't partake in ironic slop. I found Mashle to be a weirdly endearing series even though the whole premise is like "what if we made One Punch Man attend Hogwarts" and that's basically it. I was surprised to find that I like it.

Despite not having any interest in sports, I watched all of Slam Dunk recently. I was thinking I'd watch one episode just to get a little taste of cheesy old 90s anime nostalgia, but it hooked me.
