can anyone give me some tips on drawing realistic characters in flash? or in another program i could get?
ive tryed drawing people in flash but the are alll out of porportion and munted :)

Er, it took me a long time to be able to draw in proportion, and I still have trouble with it.
I could always do it fine with a pencil, but never with a mouse, so I bought a tablet. www.wacom.com has some for $100. They help alot, but if you can't get one and have a scanner , just draw something, scan it, and trace over it.
It took me a while but I use my pencil drawing style so I have something to build on, after a while you get the hang of it, you could always scale and modify certain body parts to make it in preportion.
It depends. There are so many ways to draw people.
surf the web for a pic of someone in the pose you want. copy and past it to flash, then trace over it.
Failing that, try sketching a picture. Or just make it into a cartoony design instead.

I dont think i have seen a flash animation where ppl look real, you may wanna correct me, but everytime you see a person in flash, they have a cartoon element too them. MY advise to you would be not to try and draw realisticly, build your own style, and develope it. to start with, draw in rough on a sketch pad, some eyes, then pick the sort you would want to keep through ya anim, they could be complex, or simple, then do the same with the rest of the bodies features. This may not make sense, but you may be able to gather what i mean, i find this helps abit.
but do remember that DRAWING is an ART, and takes YEARS to perfect, and get right.
oh yeah, and you DONT need a graphics tablet, sure they help, but only really in speeding up the process, the mouse is still fine!

sence you cant really achive a perfection of humanity, the next best thing is Manga. There is a nice LEARN HOW TO DRAW on this sight: http://www.polykarbon.com/ it may not be your cut of tea, but i garantee that Manga art is easy to do and is by far the most realistic looking you will ever get, and if you hate anime at all, then just change the eyes, thats the only differance i can see from that and my life drawing classes :P Good luck, im still tring to figure out how to start my flash :P so much for my artistic tallant :P
