right i'm working on this animation and the swf file is getting pretty big if though there is only about 20 seconds of animation can anyone give me any advice how i could cut the file size down

If you're talking about really high quality 3d type animation, then i'd leave it and not worry about file size. Otherwise, try reducing gradient fills and the amount of things in each scene...for example, if you have 100 of the same object in a section, then that's going to dramatically increase the file size. I did that once before i knew...had about 100 or more individual tiles making up a tile wall..the file size got up over 10 megs before i was even halfway done.

Oh yea...I didn't even think of that when I was posting. Frame by frame will do it too.
i've gone through it now using tweening and the file size is much better now, thanks
