Sounds

THE WORLD IS NEVER QUIET,
EVEN ITS SILENCE
ETERNALLY RESOUNDS
WITH THE SAME NOTES,
IN VIBRATIONS WHICH
ESCAPE OUR EARS.
AS FOR THOSE
THAT WE PERCEIVE,
THEY CARRY SOUNDS TO US,
OCCASIONALLY A CHORD,
NEVER A MELODY.
-Albert Camus

Here it is. The end of FlowDownStream Season 1. We're closing the year with a special episode. We gave the team a series of sounds and asked them to interpret those sounds, turning them into animations. Welcome to the three new members who will be joining us in Season 2.

This episode features Syrupmasterz as a guest: https://syrupmasterz.newgrounds.com/

We'll be back in February 2019. We hope you have a wonderful New Year, NG.

Very nice

So this was very nice indeed some really nice visuals throughout the whole film, wouldnt mind some added flashy effects, At first, I wasn't expecting much But what I liked about this and that one was that it was a unique piece, and very stylish just like this one is, I will recommend some extras and some slight improvments on this if it needs ofcourse. You a have a decent film here While it may not be cutting edge stuff the style of this project is very impressive and I love the direction you have taken with it all, And this is a very favorable idea you have going on here.

~~SUGGESTED IDEAS~~
wouldnt mind some added flashy effects

~X~

That was interesting...

Right off the bat I wanna say this is really cool. The animation style is pretty crude on most of these, but that's not to a fault as long as it's stylistic, which I'll point to #9 being probably the best example; those effects were cool, I can tell a lot of work was put into it. Other times though, the animations feel out of place, usually anytime tweening is over used. But those are few, and the changing styles keep me invested. And on top of everything they all involve a central theme which makes the video really cohesive. It reminds me of the way Off The Air is structured, except I think it works better here with a community contributing. Good stuff

If I'm gonna be totally honest, usually experimental/abstract animation isn't my cup of tea. Mostly because whatever messages or themes they end up portraying end up being masked by wild visuals for their own sake, with no real substance behind them at face value, and at the end of the day I feel like I'm watching a movie about nothing.

This is not one of those times.

Despite the vagueness of everything that was going on, I found myself completely understanding all aspects of the segments pretty well; I was intrigued, I was entertained (BIG plus there), I was excited to see what was coming next, and at the same time I was never quite sure of what WAS to come next. This kind of stuff already looks like it's one-of-a-kind, double so given the whole anthology approach you went for with different portions being made by different artists. And through all of that, despite the underlying consistencies between your works, you're never quite sure what to expect with the next film. It doesn't come across as if it's going to be formulaic or predictable. And I admire that.

Thanks for the fun watch, it was well worth it and you earned yourself an extra follower for your troubles. Keep being awesome, guys; in this day and age with animation being such a fickle thing on the Internet, it's great that you're keeping up that streak. :)

GoodL responds:

Thank you so much, really appreciate the great review! I've been told by other people as well that having those underlying messages is important in animation like these so that's definitely something we'll keep in Mind.
Really apreciate the support, thanks again. :)

Interesting idea but...
All I saw was 8 minutes of poorly made flash animations and visual fx.

GoodL responds:

I'd like to make something clear: Constructive criticism is ALWAYS welcome here! I would "happy react" and even thank someone who left a 0 bomb with a review explaining how we could be better, without even skipping a beat.

What you've done here, however, is not that. After checking out your videos, I would agree with Zhon that what you're doing here is just complaining about the exact same thing that your own videos are guilty of. Perhaps you're suggesting that maybe we could all (yourself included) be better! But considering that you hid your score, I'm more inclined to believe you're just leaving hate around with no suggestions on how to improve.

In any case, I respect you and I respect your opinion. I just hope that in the future if you're going to publicly hate on something you'll at least consider leaving some suggestions on how to improve.

Happy New Year.

Zhon responds:

I checked out your profile - you sure you're not talking about your own content?

Be constructive homie.

Sigas responds:

Maybe poorly made for your eyes, but we are proud of our work and like what we are doing. And in my eyes, every single episodes we released are masterpieces. Don't do this to other peoples, you might be discouraging a future Walt Disney without knowing it. Critiquing and hating aren't the same thing. Thank you for your time.
