NSFW Artist Hangout Thread! 2021-03-31 08:57:25

I'm doing this in the art forum instead of general because I am pretty certain the mods would get at me if I did that. Hopefully people still see this!

Anyways, hello and welcome back to another one of Mr. Havrylo Pigeon's epic fursuit marketing schemes. It is I, Morty, Havrylo's horny alter ego, and I bring with me today some fellow dwellers of the dark side. Because here's the thing: just as with art in general, the hentai industry is about as cutthroat as any industry can be. It is a market filled to the brim with saturation and thus it takes a helluva lot to be able to stand out and be different even just a little bit. Not to mention that it is already a very stigmatised industry to many of those who are not terminally online like us, only adding to the hardships of actually trying to break it into it in the first place. If you're an aspiring hentai artist (like myself) then you need about as much advice, criticism and support that you can get, because you are definitely going to need it even more than the average artist.

That is why this thread now exists! And I'm doing things a bit differently this time. Usually when I make these big ass posts or threads they focus exclusively on underrated artists - it's really my brand at this point - but I think this is a special occasion that calls for - gasp! - more popular artists. Because really, in such an industry like hentai, I think it'd important to have a sense of comradery between both the little and small guys. I'm obviously not going to be pinging every single "popular" hentai artist here, I'm just going to do a general sweep of artists that I think are most qualified to be here and I will mention them accordingly!

That's what this thread is all about. A thread for NSFW artists from all walks of life to get together and share their art, expertise, insights, work ethics, kinks, fetishes, advice, support, criticism, encouragement, venting, the whole entire caboodle. Don't just critique each other, get to know each other! Let's try to build a nice little community here that is tight-knit and friendly with each other, provided everyone is acting in good faith and everyone is actually trying to learn and improve from each other. No kink-shaming, but let's not go beyond NG terms of service here. You know who you are, you know what self-control means.

Anyways, let's get this motherfuckin' show on the road. Definitely ping hentai artists you feel should be on here. I tried to go for a relatively even balance of more popular and less popular artists but honestly anyone else is welcome to come on. So yeah, here is the ping wave:

I think this is an awesome idea! This can be very handy.. Introduce yourself, show us your art, critique and be critiqued, follow people and be followed, share ideas, learn from others experience...

Sharing my first idea when i began, heh:

For those creating Patreon pages, it might be hard in the beginning to get patrons, and even Patreon says people tend to join more when there are already a few patrons. For example, a Patreon page with 10 patrons is more likely to get more patrons than a Patreon page with no patrons at all. For normies they usually fill up these initial patrons with friends and family, but for us, who might not want to reveal our source of income to most of the people, we can be patron of each other (i don't do this anymore, but at the very beginning i did it). But of course, the most important thing is making quality content and posting consistently. It's better to do this patronage exchange when you're doing content already.

I can tag a couple of friends that might be interested in joining this thread: @morganmox @KamariDesigns

Thank you :3 even if it doesn't work out, it still was very pleasant to see me in this list.

I think something like this is nice and at least attempts to make up for the lack of a true 18+ section on the forum (which frankly, I would prefer and am baffled as to why there isn't one after all these years)

I have been summoned!

Honestly really appreciate posts like this putting us out there to engage in conversation and make new friends! Always down to meet new folks and see what kinda art they're up too~

Before I forget to do this a second time, here are a few questions to get y'all started:

1. Who are you in general?

2. What inspired you to start drawing hentai?

3. What kinks/fetishes/styles do you specialise in?

4. Do you plan on making a career out of your hentai or is it just something to do on the side?

Short answer: I love lesbians

Long answer:

To be fair I'm not exactly a good artist yet - hence why my art portal is empty - but I have a decent enough grasp of basic anatomy and stuff like that, so I'm getting there. I'm planning on getting a Wacom Intuos Pro sooner rather than later, which will be cool because I can use it to easily convert my paper sketches into digital format, polish them with some actual art software and then post it to NG!

Hentai is something I've sorta passively thought about breaking into for probably around a year at this point, though only since December have I actually seriously been trying to make it a reality. Originally I just wanted to make money and get out of school (which would never happen lol) but nowadays my main motive is pretty simple.

I really, REALLY love lesbians, and I am SICK of not seeing good authentic lesbian hentai, especially when it comes to Rule 34. Yeah there's some artists out there who do really good yuri stuff don't get me wrong, but there's not enough of them. Most NSFW artists only draw lesbians occasionally, and when they do, it's either grumpy/squirmy lesbians who don't even look like they're enjoying it, it's characters the artist has already depicted to be either straight or ragingly bisexual, or, if the art is actually good, it's only one fucking piece and the artist never does anything like it again! Lesbian hentai isn't taken anywhere near as seriously as other genres and I am sick and tired of nobody doing anything about it. From me, you can expect to real genuine lesbian content where the characters are actually really passionate and emotional and it actually feels real, and they aren't just bi-curious thots looking for a quick nut.

So yeah, that's the kind of art I'm intent on drawing lol. Maybe I'll try straight stuff out down the line but that's where my main expertise will be at for sure.

My general plan is to just get better at drawing, get a Wacom or some other drawing tablet, get good enough that people might actually want to pay to see me draw shit, then maybe I can set up a Patreon should it actually end up going that far. I got lots of ideas for the things I want to draw and all I need now is the talent to do so.

That, Mr. Edeshye, is my epic plan.

  1. I usually just go by Lapis everywhere, the name kinda spawned from my Gardevoir Character suuuper early on and I just stuck with it! I LOVE to just draw and get immersed in stories and fiction, and I'm hoping to reach a point where I can write and illustrate my own stories!
  2. A WHOLE lotta fetish-y nonsense; I'm not really too keen on plain vanilla sex at all, 99% of what I draw and am interested in is purely fetish content. That being said I DO really enjoy creating NSFW works for the fun of it, it definitely helps that I like a majority of the subjects and themes I usually work with.
  3. Anything belly related! From Weight-Gain to Vore, Inflation and Body Expansion, Hunger and Stomach Sounds, Internal Shots, Maw Shots, Feederism, Gas, Size-Difference, the works. It all started when I was FASCINATED by hungry stomach growls super way back when; fast forward to now and I've gone down this chaotic spiral of super fetish-y nonsense, and I am ALL for it
  4. Yes AND no? At first I didn't plan for it, I just kinda enjoyed what I did, but I AM interested in doing more professional stuff even with my NSFW content! I'll have to see where that road takes me!

1. Who are you in general?

i'm a 27 year old dude trying to be financially independent from any regular shit job, with an asshole boss, people telling me what to do and stuff.

2. What inspired you to start drawing hentai?

2007: So there was little pubescent Edeshye surfing through the webs and learning english along the way, and there were these really fun games on flash like sim dates (like Pico Sim Date, Galaxy Angel) or really random stuff (like Frank's Adventure), and as much as only some of them provided hentai in the end, the possibility of a hentai reward really got me playing those, heh. But the thing is i had so much fun playing these games, regardless of the reward (or absence of it). Surely i played other flash games on Newgrounds and watched animations and all, and this ended up getting me into flash.

Flash forward a few years, nothing actually life changing happening.. i have a little fun drawing and animating a hentai in flash now and then, have some fun coding some point and click mini games, thinking "i don't know, maybe someday i'll submit something just for fun". Never did it, though. Also never considered making money out of it.

Flash forward a few more years and i see this Patreon thing. Damn, there are people making some good money with hentai with this thing! If only i was better at it... or maybe someday i'll meet someone to make games with me.

Flash forward a couple of years more and i think You know what? i'm capable of doing this shit on my own. Fuck this shit, i'm gonna make money with hentai!

And so an year ago i made my account on Patreon and here on Newgrounds :D

3. What kinks/fetishes/styles do you specialise in?

My hentai is pretty vanilla. I like vanilla. Straight adults humans having consensual sex.

4. Do you plan on making a career out of your hentai or is it just something to do on the side?

I plan earning good money, better money than regular jobs. I still have a long way to go, but i know it's very possible, and i'm very confident :D

  1. I go by Lady or LL, or just L, I am a woman in my mid 30's who likes non-human men, helmets, and faceless things and has a preference for all things Sci-Fi.
  2. I draw porn, not hentai :U Jokes aside, I'm horny and I wanted to draw what I was horny for because I have characters I wanted to be railed or characters I wanted to be railed by. (also the very specific flavor of what I'm interested in is difficult to find so I have to make it myself to fill that void)
  3. Forced Orgasms, Multiple Orgasms, Xenophilia, Size Difference (within reason, not macro), Restraints, Praise, Non-Con, HumanXNonHuman couplings or otherwise interspecies couplings, Power Play, and a lot of focus on the Clit and women's pleasure. I pretty much only ever draw Het stuff, with the occasional outliers for friends. I also consider myself a writer, moreso than an artist.
  4. No real intent on making a 'career' out of it. I don't take commissions, nothing I put is behind a paywall and nor ever will be (I do not have any negative feelings about those that do it's just not my business model) and while I have a tip jar set up, it's not really important. If my writing gets far enough and gets enough attention I may edit it professionally and do a small publication of it, but aisde from that I'm content to just draw and write what makes me horny and is wholly self-indulgent, for myself and no one else.

Damn this is a surprise, didn't think anyone really saw any of my art so it's really nice to see a shoutout like this. I should make it clear that I'm still VERY new to this site so I apologize if I don't know how to properly use threads and that I'm not as active as I'd like. I look forward to meeting all of you and hope to help out where I can.

  1. My name is Brick, I'm 21 years old and currently in college. I am in parts of the furry community but don't really call myself a furry since I don't like assigning myself to fandoms. If I think of anything else important about me in general I'll talk about it later.
  2. I don't know if something specifically "inspired" me to draw hentai/furry porn, I'd say mostly just being a horny deviant from time to time but also enjoying the pornagraphic works I see. People like Spazkid and Shadman helped me realize that it's not bad to draw porn, just different. I haven't been drawing porn for too long, maybe 3 years at most but I do enjoy it a lot, even if I can't show most of my friends the drawings.
  3. I can't say I specialize in anything, I tend to draw male and gay scenes more often but I do also enjoy drawing female and intersex characters. In general I have a lot of kinks (some I'm not ready to publicly share yet) and the biggest consist of oviposition, inflation, mild hyper, and other stuff that I can't think of right now :P. One thing I really like to draw is niche/weird video game characters. If I go to Rule34 and see no porn of a character I get inspired to draw something of them.
  4. I don't plan to make a career out of this but I do have things set up for small support such as Ko-Fi since my drawings do take time and if people like it, tips can help produce more art. I take commissions (which are currently open) but also have done art trades and some requests. If the opportunity arose to make this into a career I'd possibly consider it but likely turn it down.

Extra stuff: If you look at my works you'll see a lot of my sona. It's not that I'm egotistical, it's just easy for me to draw and have fun ideas with it. I struggle drawing lots of other species currently which is also why I tend to draw my fish so much.

If I missed something or have questions or even just wanna talk about stuff feel free to DM me. If I don't get to you right away I'm not ignoring you, means I'm either busy or haven't check this site yet. If anyone is looking for help on drawing something I can do my best to help but I'm learning as well so I may not have answers.

Again, this is really nice being invited into here and I look forward to talking to you all :)

So this isn't meant to stomp on any dreams but a word of advice. I've been drawing for many years, starting to take deep interest in drawing my sophmore year of highschool which was about 6 years ago. If you want to make art to just make money, don't do art. You will get frustrated, you will feel disappointed, art is not a lucrative business right now except the very few who make it. What I suggest: draw because you want to draw, then possibly make money if you get the support. Draw all the lesbian stuff you think of and don't expect money for it, it'll be more rewarding that way. Take the time to try learning anatomy and basic art techniques. I'm sorry if this seems rude or hurtful but just want to give you a heads up on this stuff.

1. Who are you in general?

My name is Chata, I'm 23 and a mexican/american artist.

2. What inspired you to start drawing hentai?

Horny and also like, Ive always wanted to bring things to life that i'd think ab via art. Im still starting out but there's just something about being able to create the content I wanna see makes me feel real real good. and fuck if other people like it too then that's just the cherry on top.

3. What kinks/fetishes/styles do you specialize in?

God I love drawing monster girls and like things that wouldn't be conventionally attractive (lots of teeth, maybe light body horror, etc.) But I'm also a shameless self insert mf so if I like a character im gonna wanna draw their weiner or tiddy. Id like to specialize in like, hot but cartoony kinda style.

4. Do you plan on making a career out of your hentai or is it just something to do on the side?

This is def just a hobby but if I get comms on the side that's cool too.

I strongly disagree. It's not that you should expect money. You should make money. Things don't just fall onto your lap. Artists and musician tend to think that they should do the art that they like and maybe people will like it enough so that they can make money from it, but that's not how it works. You gotta chase the money yourself: analise the market, learn, plan, invest. If you think you're not good enough yet, that's okay, learn, practice. Use your intelligence: what is it that people like and that you like too, so you can both satisfy yourself and an audience? How can you get more exposure? What are the important things that you're good at or bad at? knowing this you can use yours strengths to your advantage and either get better at the things you're bad at or make it a way that you can outsource that part (it's an investment, either if it's money or time! you gotta invest!).

There are hundreds of hentai artists out there making a ton of money and there is a MASSIVE public for this kind of content. If you do your thing right, you will succeed.

You're not wrong, but still, you shouldn't do art just to make money. You can make art and you can make money off of your art but don't start drawing just to make money from it. Your suggestions of planning and advertising are good but again an artist shouldn't do art just for money, it will lead to lots of frustration.

4. Do you plan on making a career out of your hentai or is it just something to do on the side?

I never thought I'd end up in a random topic board out of nowhere so excuse me, I'm still learning this site :)

  1. Name's Rod, it's pretty much what I go by on the internet mostly. I'm just a small artist who's drawing dumb drawings of furries for people to look at mostly.
  2. I don't really know what inspired me to draw lewd art, I guess I just wanted to branch out and practice more on anatomy and poses after seeing alot of art out there.
  3. I'm mostly doing vanilla art of my oc's, I don't really do any fetish or kink art right now just drawing some booba and butt so i guess that's what I "specialize" in. :)
  4. I don't really have any plans on making this a career really, this is more a hobby for me to do for fun. Maybe one day when I feel confident, I'll make a tip jar or do commissions so who knows.

Thanks for selecting me for this it's neat to look at other peoples art on here.

  1. Average guy you probably pass on the street.
  2. Hentai
  3. Futa and Monster-Girls.
  4. After 7-8h of work, 2h of driving and another 1-2 hours of chores, I don't want my hobby to be another job I have to attend in my free time.

Short answer: I love lesbians

Long answer:

To be fair I'm not exactly a good artist yet - hence why my art portal is empty - but I have a decent enough grasp of basic anatomy and stuff like that, so I'm getting there. I think I implied in that post that I had already basically stopped focusing on money as my main concern but I appreciate your advice nonetheless lol

1: My alias is Foodie! I'm a digital artist who specializes in drawing NSFW of men in the media I like at the time! I'm pretty new to Newgrounds and I'm trying to find my footing here. I'm pretty easygoing and just like to indulge in my horny thoughts for the fictional men I'm infatuated with at the time~ Mainly with my own persona or an OC, I've made for the universe!

2: I was horny for characters and wanted to draw myself getting plowed by them. > >;;

3: I dunno if I specialize in anything in particular but if I'm honest, I love to draw cock and balls. Especially fat plump sacks. The more spunk in there, the better for me. Though I do have my limits and not exactly a fan of hyper-sized bits.

4: Maybe I'll sell prints every now and again! I honestly don't have an idea of where this will take me but in the meantime, I'm gonna indulge in it!

  1. Kerriska. Just a guy that likes bugs, among other other things.
  2. No-one was drawing the exact art I wanted, with the exact character, style, or build. I’m sort of picky.
  3. I like drawing non-human girls in their panties/lingerie, or just something pinup-y in general. I usually draw in a somewhat simplistic style.
  4. Nope. But I do want to start making short animations with my characters.

Heeeeeeeey what's up, people!!!!

  1. I simply go by Kamari or Kamari Designs if you wanna be formal..
  2. Watching too much hentai and lewding characters that I read in manga's LOL
  3. For right now just simple pin-ups. Nothing too extreme yet, I'm still dipping my toes into this realm
  4. I would like to but I mostly do it on the side. My main goals are creating my very own manga as well as a independent anime one day. In the middle of doing that I mostly create hentai visual novel games

  1. I am hobbyist at the money.
  2. I love drawing thicc women, buff said.
  3. Not sure yet. Generally just big, thicc, pawg and ass pics.
  4. Just something on the side.
